OUR TEAM

Lorna Rush

Lorna commenced her adjusting career as an Independent Adjuster in 1985 and   has had extensive claims experience in investigation and resolving automobile claims, property losses, both personal and commercial, liability claims as well as fidelity losses.   For the past 25 years she has focused on automobile claims for ICBC, Private Insurers and Law Firms in the area of claims investigations and settlements, trial preparation, in-depth scene investigations, scale diagrams, digital scene photographs, trial package preparation and fraud investigations.

Lorna completed the Justice Institute of BC Mediation training and continues her education on many fronts by way of the Insurance Institute of British Columbia as well as various educational seminars and conferences.

Lorna was very active with the British Columbia Insurance Adjusters Association and Canadian Insurance Professionals of Vancouver for many years, serving on the executive of both associations and concluding as President of both.   Lorna also chaired the ‘Christmas in June’ Charitable organization, which raised funds for the Food Banks in local communities.

 

Kristyn Ward

Kristyn Ward started her Insurance career in the position of administrative assistant with a Lower Mainland Private Investigation firm in 1999.   Kristyn joined L. Rush Adjusters in 2005 after attending Langara College where she studied Fine Arts and then went on to the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria, where she obtained her Professional Photographer designation.    Kristyn’s photographic background makes her an excellent choice for assignments involving photographic evidence.

Currently working towards her CIP designation, Kristyn handles automobile, personal lines property and new home warranty claims for ICBC, Private Insurers and Law Firms as well as doing in-depth scene investigations, which includes the creation of scale scene diagrams, day and night photography and trial package preparation.    Kristyn has specific expertise in investigation and resolving automobile liability losses.   She also does pre-trial investigations for several legal defense firms and plaintiff counsel.

 

Barry Slocombe

Barry’s nearly 40 years of claims handling experience both as a Claims Manager for a major international insurer and as an independent adjuster make him an excellent choice for nearly any type of insurance claim.  He has handled property and aviation claims domestically and internationally, including Canada, the United States and Central America.     Barry was involved in the handling of the Hinton Train Crash in 1988 and was one of the team of 3 adjusters assigned to handle property damage and bodily injury claims arising from the sinking of the Queen of the North in 2006, operated by BC Ferries.  

For the past 6 years Barry’s main focus has been on Property losses, Motor Truck Cargo and New Home Warranty claims.    Barry has been involved at an executive level with several insurance organizations both domestically and internationally for over two decades and is well know for being the Master of Ceremonies at several Vancouver area insurance events.
